In our country of India, women do not get enough food, due to this, malnutrition is seen in the women of our country. And if the mother herself is malnourished, how can she free her child from malnutrition, how can she make her child healthy ? ? So if the mother is weak then the child she gives birth to is also malnourished. That is, due to insufficient food, the mother remains malnourished , then the child in the womb also remains malnourished , and then it happens that the child cannot grow well, the child cannot develop at all.
There are many reasons for this, since the mother is poor, she works till the birth of the child, so she does not get enough rest. And the mother gives birth to a malnourished child at the time of delivery. And because of a malnourished mother, she does not get enough milk and the development of the child is not enough. Due to such a situation, the Government of India started this Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in 2013 under National Food Safety.

In this scheme, assistance is paid to the beneficiary in 3 installments, the details of which are given below.
First installment assistance
First installment is due during 150 days of pregnancy APL beneficiary gets first installment of Rs.1000. And BPL beneficiary is to get Rs 2000 only.
Second installment assistance
The second installment is due only after 6 months of pregnancy . In this APL beneficiary who is only getting 2000 rupees . And BPL beneficiary is entitled to Rs 2000.
Third Installment Assistance
The third installment is only available after registering the birth of the child i.e. after 14 weeks of vaccinations like BCG, DPT, OPV, hepatitis B. In this APL beneficiary is entitled to Rs 2000 and BPL beneficiary is entitled to Rs 2000 .
A total of Rs 6000 is available to the beneficiary.
Eligibility of PMMVY of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
- Other than such women who are working in the state government, central government or public units or are benefiting from any scheme currently in force, only women during pregnancy and up to 6 months can get the benefit of this scheme.
- In case of premature delivery or stillbirth, the benefit of this scheme can be availed only once .
- If the pregnancy is miscarried or the child is stillborn, the benefit can be availed in such cases.
- If the beneficiary gets pregnant after receiving the first installment of financial assistance, the remaining installment will be given after deducting the first installment during the next pregnancy.
- All mothers who give birth to the first child in the family after the date after January 2017 will get the benefit for 6 months.
- If the beneficiary of this scheme has received an installment of assistance for premature delivery and then the child is stillborn, this assistance will not be available during the second pregnancy. But the mother will be entitled to get the assistance given to pregnant women after birth.
- Asha Behnos , Anganwadi Behnos , Helping Sisters , Volunteer Behnos if they are eligible to be beneficiaries in other ways then they can get benefit of Pradhan Mantri Matrivand Yojana.
