Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a subsidy of Rs 2.67 lakh is currently given to the applicant on purchasing a new house-flat. Now the applicant is similarly eligible to get subsidy from the government on the loan taken by the applicant for repairing the old house or making the kutcha house permanent, about which most of the applicants are not aware.
Just as the Central Government provides interest subvention on the purchase of a new house, subsidy assistance is also provided on these loans under the Housing for All Mission.
However, for that the applicant will have to submit the necessary proof to the authorized bank, housing finance company or co-operative bank. Also, it must be clearly mentioned in the application that the applicant wants to avail the benefit of Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) while taking the loan. The financial institutions as well as the applicant’s eligibility to claim interest subsidy are verified by them. After this, at the end of every month National Housing Bank will send applications for labor to HUDCO.
The subsidy amount will be deposited in the applicant’s account accordingly by following the prescribed procedure of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Voucher or certificate will be issued to the applicant by the committee. The applicant will have to submit this certificate in return, on the basis of which the amount of interest subsidy will be deposited in the applicant’s account.

The applicant should not have availed the benefit of any scheme of the Government of India to get interest subsidy amount on the loan. If the applicant wants to renovate his house or prepare a kutcha house, then he should not have taken the benefit of any housing scheme of the Government of India. He will be eligible for subsidy only if he has not availed such benefit.
Not only that, the applicant can avail this benefit only if no member of the applicant’s family has his own permanent house in the whole of India. The persons to be included in the family of the applicant include his wife and unmarried children.
